Want to talk to the same, real people each time you call? You call us, we never bombard you with calls! It’s time to get honest, straightforward help from an experienced local Atlanta agent who knows about the different types of health insurance plans available for Individuals and Families in Georgia!
Buying your own health insurance takes more than comparing monthly premiums. Your doctors, prescriptions, deductible, and available financial help can make a big difference in which plan works for you.
Cathy and William help individuals and families compare coverage and enroll when eligible. Georgia Health Insurance charges no fees for this help. If you need an ACA Marketplace plan in Georgia, the state’s Marketplace is Georgia Access. We can help you understand your options and the steps needed to get coverage started.
We start with who needs coverage, where you live, your expected household income, and any coverage available through work or a public program. Then we look at the plans we offer in your area, including their provider networks, prescription coverage, monthly premiums, and out-of-pocket costs.
Check the exact plan’s network before enrolling. A doctor who accepts one plan from an insurer may not accept another plan from that same insurer. We can help you find the directory and understand what to confirm with the plan and provider.
Most people enroll during annual Open Enrollment. Some changes, such as losing qualifying coverage, getting married, having a baby, or moving under qualifying circumstances, may create a Special Enrollment Period. The event, timing, documents, and coverage start date matter. Contact us promptly if your coverage is ending.
Medicaid and PeachCare applications are available throughout the year through the state. An application referral does not mean you have been approved. Read our Medicaid and PeachCare guide.
Premium tax credits can lower the monthly premium for eligible Marketplace households. Eligibility depends on projected annual household income, tax-filing circumstances, and access to other qualifying coverage. Some people also qualify for cost-sharing reductions, which generally require choosing a Silver Marketplace plan.
Report income and household changes during the year. When you receive advance premium tax credits, you reconcile them on your federal tax return. For tax years after 2025, the old limits on repayment of excess advance credits no longer apply. An income estimate that is too low can leave you with a larger tax bill. Read the IRS explanation.
ACA-compliant major medical plans cover essential health benefits and cannot deny you coverage because of a pre-existing condition. Short-term insurance and fixed indemnity coverage have different protections and limitations. Fixed indemnity insurance pays specified benefits that may be much less than your medical bill. Health care sharing programs are not insurance and do not guarantee payment of your expenses.
Use our 2026 IFP guide for this year’s coverage information. Our Georgia Access guide explains account access, notices, document requests, and application changes.
